This weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch #564 is nice. I like sketches that are clear on where the focal point is, and still be able to interpret a little bit. Here’s this weeks sketch by Melissa.
This really could be a one layer card, but I mounted it onto a blue panel, then onto a side folded craft cardstock base just for the extra!.
I used a few different stamps sets from Photo Play, Hero Arts, and Stampendous to create my focal point . I got most of these stamp sets as part of a fundraiser from the crafting community to help with Hurricane Harvey Relief. They are just as relevant today with COVID-19 and the unemployment situation in our country as they were during that time.
I had started out this card just to meet the requirements of the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge, and ended up creating this specifically for some friends. He is a Texas Ranger, and she is a healthcare administrator!
Now, I feel connected to the card, and really wanted to make it more personal! That is why my boot is pink!
After I embossed the images and sentiment using Altenew Black Obsidian Ink, and clear embossing powder, onto watercolor paper, I used the Starry Night color from the 24 Pan Artists Watercolor Set to create the splatter background. I used the Encore Silver Pigment Ink and clear embossing powder for my star. I then used the Altenew Metallic 14, and 24 Pan Artists Watercolor Sets to paint in the images.
This was such a fun card to make with some special meaning behind it, and came together quickly thanks to a great sketch!

Thank you Melissa
You know me and Texas, Rachael, so I love this card. Plus, I betcha I know for whom it was created – great couple, and they will love it, too.
You’ve inspired me with this one to try some embossing on my own. Now gotta go shopping (online, of course) for supplies ~
Another good one for your file of ideas!
Thanks Ann,
I’ve already mailed it! I hope they like it too!
I will PM about “supplies”
Great to read how you created this card.
