Hello everyone,

My latest class focuses on heat embossing. This is such a fun way to create projects. I love watching the embossing powder change to a pretty shiny image!

My first two cards are similar, but the colors are vastly different. It really shows what a completely different look can be created just by changing up the color scheme. These cards were created by applying several “coats” of embossing powder to a die cut image.  This gives the image a strong metallic look. I used a foam die cut piece to pop the image up from the background.

I will post additional photos at the end of my post showing how I got this look.

This next card was created by embossing in layers. Particularly the Earth. I used 3 different embossing powders to create my Earth, and a  clear embossing powder for my background stars.

My final card was created by stamping my images with white embossing powder and then ink blending the colors I wanted. This has to be done carefully as some colors blended together will just get muddy together!

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me.

Rachael

Technique photos:

1) Cut out your image

2) Ink your image up with embossing ink. I used a scrap sheet of paper to protect my fingers from getting sticky.

3) Cover in embossing powder, and heat set. Repeat 3-4 times for a strong metallic look.
