HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
I truly wish all the moms out there an enjoyable day with your families.
As for my own family, we are a bit scattered with my son and his wife on the west coast, and my daughter and her family in Italy! It would have been a facetime kinda day for us without the COVID-19 anyway! I am immensely grateful that we have been well and healthy up to now, and I miss my kids very much. Hopefully soon we will all be together again
On to my class!
With each class I take, I discover something new. It has really been exciting to learn all these things and to put them into practice. The watercoloring techniques from this class are quite simple and give great results.
Often times if I’m unsure of myself with a new technique, I will just copy the instructor! In this case it’s Lydia Evans.
Lydia has a very conversational style to her videos and is easy to understand. It’s quite clear she has loads of experience, and enjoys sharing it! For my card today I used the same wet on wet technique and the results are very beautiful.
My first card showcases a beautiful “galaxy” background for my die cut script. You can find a video at the end of this post to learn how I created this background.
I used some foam tape to pop my flower up away from the card base and stamped the leaf images using Green Field Crisp Dye Ink. I used a bit of black watercolor to create the splashes of dots on my background and the the sentiment from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set embossed in black. I finished this card off with a few iridescent sequins and some gold glitter washi tape.
Thank you for spending a bit of your time with me today, and enjoy Mothers Day!
