I love learning different ways to use and or apply color. Some of the techniques taught in this class are techniques that can really enhance the color that is being applied. The example below is a hot pressed watercolor paper in which the color is applied in very small amounts at a time in order to achieve the overall look. The class instructor “For The Love Of Color”, Julia Altermann really explains the time it takes to achieve certain results. In other words, patience!
Both of my cards were created using this technique of applying small dots of paint on petals and stems from the Amazing You Stamp and Die Bundle. This helped me achieve the shading on my flowers. I used the 36 Pan Watercolor set from Altenew for my coloring and I used some Perfect Pearls to create my background. I think this is a really beautiful card, and I enjoyed making it.
My next card is from the same set using the same technique, but putting the card together in whole different way. For this card I used the Nesting Dies Frames and the Wood Pallet Stamp Set to create my background. I again used the Perfect Pearls to paint the edge of my frame for the flower. I embossed the sentiments on both cards.
I am so glad you took the time to stop by today.
